Energy Star

U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) launched Energy Star® in the year of 1992 in order to help consumers to choose more energy-efficiency electronic and electric appliances to protect environment. Products with Energy Star® must meet the energy consumption index requirements stipulated by the US Energy Department (DOE) and Environment Protection Agency (EPA). American consumers mainly choose energy-saving products according to this label. Meanwhile, according to the American federal directive, products with Energy Star® can enjoy government procurement preferences. At present, Energy Star® has become one of the energy-efficiency label schemes having the widest influence and the highest market acceptance in U.S.
Energy Star®, carried out since the year of 1992 stipulates that electronic and electric appliances which meet the energy-consumption index requirements of DOE and EPA can be affixed with Energy Star® voluntarily after being registered in EPA, and don’t need to be tested and confirmed by a third-party testing institute.
At the beginning of 2010, EPA and DOE jointly released the latest requirements of Energy Star®: since January 1st, 2011, manufactures who have applied for Energy Star® must submit the certificate and test report issued by authorized certification body and testing institute to EPA. Product specifications and detailed test data required by the standard should be included in the test report. 。
